Request to Inspect and/or Copy Public Records

The Department of Administration is committed to transparency and open government. Many records are available online through the Department’s or individual Divisions’ websites.

If the information you seek is related to the RI Department of Administration’s operation but is not readily available through the websites above, you may make an Access to Public Records Act (APRA) request. Per RIGL section 38-2-1 et seq., APRA requires public agencies to provide access to public records. Click here for more information on the  Department of Administration APRA Regulations

For the public’s convenience, the RI Department of Administration recently launched a user-friendly APRA portal where requests for records can be made online. Click the portal link below to start your request.
